Los Vascos was founded in the late 1980s and it constitutes one of the first foreign investments in Chile. Founded by the Rothschilds (Domaine Barons de Rothschild), the Los Vascos property comprises more than 2,220 hectares, of which only 220 are planted with vineyards in the region of Colchagua. The remainder, however, is planted with other agricultural products such as wheat and corn.

In this video, general manager Claudio Naranjo explains the philosophy of the estate. With a French upbringing but in Chilean soil, Los Vascos aims to make wines representative of their Chilean origin but that pay proper respect to their education. The result is that the wines, despite coming from a relatively warm region, display remarkable finesse and elegance.
