Visiting Germany’s NORTHERNMOST WINE REGION! ????| SAALE-UNSTRUT TRAVEL GUIDE

Hello and greetings from Saale-Unstrut! Today, we are visiting the northernmost of Germany’s 13 wine-growing regions, which sits along the 51st parallel north. The wine history here dates back over a thousand years, with the first vines being cultivated by monks in the year 998 (nine hundred and ninety eight) AD, and it’s as picturesque a destination as you can find!

This is a place where terraced vineyards come spilling down the hills, where medieval castles sit atop clifftops, and where churches stand guard in the heart of the old town. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – Germany has some pretty magical destinations to discover.

In this video, we’ll tour the town of Freyburg, we’ll sample some German white wines at a baroque vineyard, we’ll explore Naumburg Cathedral from its attic to its treasury vault, we’ll take part in a forging workshop, spend the night in a wine hotel, and a whole lot more.
