RECIPE FOR THE BASIC Mead Honey wine
* 8kg of Honey
* 10gm EC1118 Yeast
* 1 tsp Yeast Nutrient
* Makes 23 Litres of Mead
. Bring the honey along with 5 litrs of water to a soft rolling boil for 2 to 3 hours.
. Place into the fermenter with cool water to get the temperature down to around 20 Degrees Celsius then place the yeast and nutrient.
. Rack it into another vessel or fermenter around 8 to 10 weeks and then again in 3 to 6 months, then bottle any time after 6 months.
. Please note, depending when you choose to rack the wine the Mead is ready to drink after 6 months but 5 years is recommended.
