Nerello Mascalese gown on the many soils of Mount Etna is contributing to the volcanic areas reputation as the “Burgundy of the south” according to winemaker Frank Cornelissen. Burgundy and Barolo are both famous for being areas that produce precise wines that reflect the flavor of the plots on which they are grown. Cornelissen at with Ask a Winemaker in December of 2013.
