They’re just highly unusual places…So Johan is probably about the worst place you can plant a vineyard, to tell you the truth. It’s gorgeous but it’s north, it gets punished by the wind from the ocean, it ripens incredibly late there’s so many problems with that site in many ways, the fruit always comes in like really challenging and challenging weather and challenging conditions, but the wines that come out of that side that always emerge are just astonishing. And it’s I think what draws me to wine is this idea that the wine is not about… I mean you can sort of draw this parallel, right? about people right? and interesting people and pretty people and kind of all that shit that that we talked about? But when you look at a vineyard oftentimes it’s not the most beautiful vineyard or the most perfect fruit that actually gives you the best product. And one of the things I’ve noticed is that both Stella and Johan for example are incredibly stressful to places the conditions in which they’re growing by comparison to everybody else around them are incredibly challenging, it’s just pure love. And so what ends up happening is all that stuff collides and then you end up making these wines that are just inexplicably, you know exotic and and and complex.
