Delight in preparing the mulled wine, a hot and spicy drink perfect on winter days, very popular not only on our mountains but all over the world.

***

On this cold winter day, I know how to warm up my guests, with some good mulled wine!
Thanks to its excellent spicy flavour, you’ll certainly win your guests over. Let’s see together what ingredients we’ll need:
• 1 cup (200 g) of sugar
• ½ fresh grated nutmeg
• 2 cinnamon sticks • 8 cloves
• 1 orange and 1 lemon (untreated)
• 4 ½ cups (1 lt) of full-bodied red wine
Let’s prepare the mulled wine:
Pour the sugar and the spices into a large steel frying pan. Now add the citrus zests, which I peeled off with a peeler, trying to avoid as much as possible the bitter, white pith… pour the wine… and place it on the fire until it comes to a boil.
Make sure that the sugar has dissolved, after that it’s time to ignite the wine. Use a burning long match to keep a safe distance… and wait until the flames go out by themselves.
After sifting and ladling into mugs, your mulled wine is ready to be sipped. Enjoy and see you next video recipe.
