~ Cocktail History & Information ~
The New Year’s Sparkler cocktail is a drink built with berry-flavored vodka, cranberry juice, champagne, or another sparkling wine.
New Year’s Sparkler Cocktail Info:
New Year’s Eve is maybe the most iconic holiday for drinks. This is primarily because of the signature drink of the holiday: Champagne.
However! Not everyone is a fan of the distinct taste of Champagne. And here is where the New Year’s Sparkler cocktail comes to your rescue. The drink is a breeze to build and can be adjusted to suit just about anyone’s flavor profile.
The sparkling concoction starts with a berry-flavored vodka, and I specifically use raspberry vodka in mine.
Of course, infusing vodka at home is also an option and a good thing to impress your guests. You can experiment with various berries when making your own berry vodka, providing different flavor profiles. You can also test which berry to vodka ratio you enjoy the most. Berries I can see work in this cocktail are cranberry, raspberry, and blackberries.
The most important part of the New Year’s Sparkler is the wine. The most important thing here is that the Champagne is not too sweet, you can also use a cava or prosecco, and they both work fine. We are also mixing this wine with citrus and vodka, so there is no need to go overboard with the most expensive bottle you can find. Cheap is okay.
